Ghetto Alive is an alternative music space located in Seoul, Korea. Since its establishment in 2016 by Director Jung Jisun, it has been one of the only venues that regularly showcases visual art and musical performances that are experimental or underground in nature, and has focused on free jazz, Korean traditional music, and improvised music. Ghetto Alive quickly became recognized as being one of the only venues to host these types of performances, and in 2019 even gained the support and recognition of the Seoul Cultural Foundation. In 2020, Ghettoalive records was also established and two albums were recorded. Ghetto Alive serves as a vital hub in Seoul for creative artists of all disciplines, and for this reason it was picked as the venue to host the recordings for the Jazz Korea Germany festival.
